Holiday Inn to Be Built in Ecuador´s Quito

InterContinental Hotels will break ground on the new Holiday Inn Express in Quito, Ecuador.

This property will mark the 18th country in which InterContinental has a presence in Latin America, and it is the 13th Holiday Inn Express in the region, bringing the total of number of Holiday Inn hotels to 30, and the total number of hotels to 58, including the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Staybridge Suites brands.

The ground breaking of the Holiday Inn Express Quito in Ecuador demonstrates IHG´s commitment to expanding the Holiday Inn brand throughout key cities in Central and South America and complements recent Holiday Inn Express openings in Puerto Montt, Chile and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Upon completion, the hotel will be 12-stories high with a total of 139 rooms. Construction of the new property will have a contemporary look and feel and will be integrated into a historic Ecuadorian-classic 1950´s house.

Surrounded by volcanoes and forested mountains, Quito is a city rich in culture and history. With a population of about 1,400,000, Quito is still known today as the Cultural Capital of the Americas.
