Holiday Inn to Shell Out $14 Million to Build New Hotel in Santo Domingo
A 7-flight hotel, with 140 rooms and 20 suites, the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Santo Domingo will be built in the near future on the main Abraham Lincoln throughway.
Its owners announced that the project will set back $1 million and that it is expected to be ready some 14 months from now, before the summer in 2008.
Promoters of the new tourism infrastructure, Pierre Nahas, who is president of the group Inverplata y Pierre Nahas, as well as the president of the InterContinental Hotels Group for Latin America, Alvaro Diago, agreed that this new project will come into being thanks to the trust in the local investment climate appropriate for developing tourism businesses.
The entrepreneurs added that, at the present time, Santo Domingo is considered to be one of the top economic and commercial centers of the Caribbean.
