Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino Wraps Up Refurbishment

The Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino recently completed the renovation of its open-air lobby and adjacent lobby bar. The lobby now radiates a cool Caribbean-modern vibe with three striking, stainless-steel chandeliers by Alger Lighting complementing the traditional ceiling of carved teak and polished beams.

A newly designed front desk with gleaming Calcutta marble, glass tile and Maya Romanoff “mother-of-pearl” wall-coverings shaded by ornately-carved screens, welcomes the guests. The lobby also boasts over-sized potted palms and billowing white-fabric accents, delicate chaise lounges by Della Robbia and svelte rattan armchairs by Mark David.

The adjacent Alfresco Lobby Bar overlooks the renowned Palm Beach with canopied, stainless-steel day-beds and colorful blown-glass candle holders. The free-standing bar at center stage has been refinished with Italian Bottochino marble and limestone.

Other areas being transformed by the resort’s ongoing $20 million renovation include all 336 guestrooms (set for completion May 2007), 24 suites, including four specialty suites, and the chic Palms Restaurant and Bar (all debuting summer 2007). The property will remain open and functioning throughout renovations.
