Iberostar Launches Asian Concept Spas

Iberostar Hotels has announced that it will introduce two more Thai Zen Space spas to its portfolio of Spanish properties in April 2008. This will bring the total number of Asian concept spas at Iberostar hotels to ten; all are in Spain.

The new spas will be unveiled at the Iberostar Playa de Muro Hotel in Majorca and Iberostar Costa Canaria Hotel on Gran Canaria.

The new Thai Zen Space spas will follow the concept launched at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Anthelia at the end of 2006, offering traditional Asian therapies at affordable prices.

The full spectrum of Thai and Balinese massage will be available, plus lesser-known treatments such as the centuries-old Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi massage. Signature therapies include “Thai Herbal Sweet & Heat”, a powerful treatment using a heated pouch of 100 different herbs.

The Thai Zen Space spas also feature special pools and baths where guests can enjoy experiences such as Watsu (a type of shiatsu massage given in water) and Mandi Susu baths, whereby milk and spices are combined according to an old Javanese recipe.

The authenticity of Thai Zen Space is guaranteed as all therapists hail from Thailand and hold qualifications from the Temple of Po in Bangkok. In addition, there is a Thai Zen Space centre in Spain where therapists can update their skills.
