InterContinental Opens New Monterey Property
InterContinental Hotels & Resorts opened the doors to the second of three planned hotels in the Western Region of the U.S. with the unveiling of InterContinental The Clement Monterey.
Located on Monterey Bay, the 208-room hotel is the first new hotel build since the late 1980s and is expected to be the last new construction in the area for many years to come. InterContinental The Clement Monterey is located in Canary Row and next door to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
The property’s signature restaurant, The C Restaurant + Bar, features indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the Bay and showcases fresh seafood and local organic produce in addition to a special “cuisine-to-go” menu.
Other hotel amenities include a combined 15,000 square-feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space with audio visual services and high-speed Internet access and a state of the art fitness center.
InterContinental The Clement Monterey follows the opening of InterContinental San Francisco in late February and is a prelude to InterContinental’s continued expansion into Paradise Valley, Arizona, where the brand’s first resort property in the North America, InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa, will be unveiled in fall 2008.
These three new-build hotels join the historic InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco and InterContinental Los Angeles Century City, adding 1,085 rooms and more than doubling the brand’s existing room inventory in the Western Region.
