InterContinental San Juan Renovating Casino

The 402-room InterContinental San Juan Resort & Casino will complete its property-wide renovation program this summer with the unveiling of its redone 8,500-square-foot casino.

Since 2000, when InterContinental Hotels Group took over the property, $42 million has been invested to transform and upgrade the hotel. More than 90 percent of the renovations are done, including an $18 million project in 2008 that included guest rooms, the lobby and pool deck renovations.

Another $4 million will be invested in the casino renovation, slated for completion in July. The resort targets the family and corporate markets, according to Sharon Kilmartin, general manager.
