Jamaica’s Grand Lido Braco Resort & Spa Ranked Among the World’s Best Resorts
Travel + Leisure magazine unveiled its much-anticipated World Best Awards 2007 in its August issue, including its top hotel picks for the year. One of the luscious retreats and boutique hideaways worldwide that made the list this year is first-time winner is the Grand Lido Braco Resort & Spa in Jamaica. The AAA Four Diamond was ranked among the Top 25 Hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas.
Grand Lido Braco Resort & Spa boasts some of the best seaside frontage on Jamaica’s north coast, with more than 2,000 feet of private white sand beach. Upon arriving at the resort’s charming town square, guests are greeted with a refreshing fruit punch and salty ocean breezes.
The sprawling resort is distinctive for its architecture, reminiscent of a Jamaican village with cobblestone walkways, intricate gingerbread fretwork, and a laidback, yet elegant, ambiance. A guest favorite is the weekly Friday night Street Party, a beachside feast under the stars, with succulent freshly grilled lobster, pit-roasted suckling pig, spicy island curries, tropical fruit and decadent desserts.
Culture mavens looking to combine some R&R with authentic island flavor will delight in Grand Lido Braco’s annual Best of Jamaica (scheduled from October 3 to 7), a long weekend immersion of cooking classes, rum blending seminars, reggae dance lessons, perhaps even picking up a little Jamaican patois along the way.
There’s complimentary golf at a choice of three greens (including two 18-hole championship courses), complimentary manicures and pedicures at the resort’s full-service spa, entertainment; airport transfers, even dry cleaning.
