Jamaica’s Palmyra Resort Unveils Meetings Package

Scheduled to open fall 2009, The Palmyra’s new meetings enhancement package includes a volunteer project with The Palmyra Foundation, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing textbooks to public school children in Jamaica.

Attendees will help wrap or personally distribute textbooks to needy children in the area. It also includes a one-hour motivational lecture that will help inspire attendees to take their “game” to the next level, a custom-designed teambuilding activity to help encourage communication, cooperation and problem solving, and a choice of a round of golf at one of three nearby championship golf courses or a spa treatment at the region’s first branded ESPA.

The “Meetings Making a Difference” enhancement package is $350 per person plus room rate and can be added to groups that book a minimum of 20 rooms. The Palmyra offers 23,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting space, including a panoramic gazebo with a 360-degree view of the Caribbean Sea or a verdant lawn providing 6,000 square feet of natural beauty.

The resort’s indoor facilities features a 5,500-square-foot ballroom, which accommodates up to 400 seated guests for dinner or 500 standing guests for cocktail gatherings.

Five additional breakout rooms, ranging in size from 340 square feet to 1,000 square feet each, are also available for smaller groups. The resort’s business center includes the latest generation of audio-visual equipment, support staff, high-speed Internet capabilities, and Wi-Fi access in public areas.
