Marriott Reopens JW Marriott Hotel in New Orleans

Marriott International representatives and New Orleans officials were on hand Friday to mark the official reopening of the JW Marriott Hotel New Orleans as the city took another step forward in its recovery from Hurricane Katrina.

J.W. Marriott, Marriott´s chairman and CEO, and Stephen Perry, president and CEO of the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau, attended the opening ceremony.

Marriott, which has 15 hotels in the New Orleans area, said reopening hotels closed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina is a vital key to rebuilding the city, as they will provide housing for thousands of relief and reconstruction related personnel.
