Marriott to Sign Deal for 36 Fairfield Inn Hotels in Mexico

Marriott Chairman and CEO J.W. “Bill” Marriott Jr. and President and COO Arne Sorenson will be joined by Mexican Ambassador Arturo Sarukhan, Fairfield Inn & Suites Vice President and Global Brand Manager Shruti Gandhi Buckley and representatives from Pulso Hotelero, S.A. de C.V. of Mexico at Marriott’s headquarters to sign the largest multi-unit development deal in the company’s history of more than 50 years in the lodging industry.

The signing of this deal will add 36 new Fairfield Inn hotels throughout Mexico over the next 10 years, making the brand the eighth in the Marriott portfolio to expand globally and signifying the company’s commitment to continue its expansion outside the United States.

When this deal is fully implemented, Marriott will be represented by 57 hotels in Mexico from five different brands, demonstrating the company’s belief that Mexico is one of the world’s premier travel destinations. The event will take place on Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. in the Marriott headquarters main lobby in Bethesda, Md.
