Melia Opens First Hotel in Germany
The official inauguration of the Melia Berlin, the first Melia branded hotel in Germany, took place last week in the German capital.
The event was attended by a large number of figures from the world of business, politics and culture, and also by Sebastian Escarrer, Vice Chairman and CEO of Sol Melia, the Mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, and the Spanish Ambassador to Germany, Gabriel Busquets.
During the inauguration, Klaus Wowereit expressed his satisfaction for the growth in tourism in Berlin in recent years and also emphasised the importance of the city attracting companies with the experience and know-how of Sol Melia. The Spanish Ambassador in Berlin, Gabriel Busquets, spoke about the important presence of Spanish companies in the country and the positive effects that these business links have on culture and business in both countries.
The Melia Berlin is located in the heart of the German capital on the corner of Friedrich and Weidendamm streets and within a few minutes walk of the Brandenburg Gate, the Museum Island with its world famous museums and galleries, the Nikolai quarter, the Friedrichstadtpalast Theatre or Alexanderplatz.
