The oceanfront Spindrift Inn in Monterey has finished its $2 million rejuvenation. The makeover includes new designs, furnishings, floorings, fabrics and bathrooms. Design elements include milled florals, damasks, tweeds and silk in hues of raspberry and green apple on custom-designed canopied feather beds, coverlets and plush pillows.

Other features include deep-seated chairs with ottomans; wood-burning, marble fireplaces; and window seats. Custom-designed furniture pieces include walnut, satinwood and pear wood bedside tables and an activity table with a pair of chairs. Polished hardwood floors and custom wool area rugs are underfoot.

Every guestroom features a 37-inch, flat-panel television, wireless Internet access, an in-room safe, robes and a marble-topped mini bar. The newly renovated bathrooms feature polished Calcutta Oro marble and buffed nickel fittings, as well as cotton towels, Aveda personal care products, hairdryers and magnifying make-up mirrors.

The inn’s lobby was also renovated to feature the raspberry and green apple hues found in the guest rooms. The massive marble wood-burning fireplace continues to serve as the room’s focal point, with new sofas, settees, ottomans and tables. Nightly room rates start at $149 from Feb. 16 through March 31, and represent a savings of 25 percent.
