A name change has taken place at the Grand Bahama resort formerly known as The Westin and Sheraton at Our Lucaya since February 2003.

The new name, the Westin and Sheraton Grand Bahama Island Our Lucaya Resort, is aimed to more effectively communicate the resort´s location.

In addition to the new name, the Westin part of the resort reopened the Lighthouse Pointe section after a four-month makeover.

A total of 198 ocean view rooms, including six 1,000-square-foot suites, were renovated with new furniture, including Westin´s signature Heavenly Bed and Bath fixtures, carpeting and flat-screen TVs.

The resort was home last week to the International Tourism Partners Conference that spanned from April 30 to May 3.
