Nevis’ Montpelier Plantation Enhances Guest Experience
Dedicated to continually improving the guest experience, Montpelier Plantation, an 18-room Relais & Chateaux property, has created an even more authentically Nevisian atmosphere with the incorporation of more local elements into the fashionably elegant property.
Responding to the desires of today’s sophisticated and responsible travelers to more fully experience the culture of the places they visit, Montpelier Plantation has added even more locally grown and raised products to its inventory. While many spices and other ingredients of the sumptuous cuisine served at the property’s two gourmet restaurants, the Mill and the Terrace, have been grown in its own gardens, Montpelier is now seeking to purchase as much of its food products as possible from local sources, from vegetables grown by neighboring farmers to the town fishermen’s catch of the day.
“Not only are these products fresher, but their integration into our menu appeals to visitors who prefer a lifestyle of health and sustainability while seeking to expand their horizons through travel,” said Timothy Hoffman, one of the owners of Montpelier. “Employing this more organic approach allows us to partner with the local community to support the local economy while simultaneously remaining true to Montpelier’s distinctive style and high standards.”
Further enhancing the Nevisian elements of a stay at Montpelier, the Hoffman’s have completely renovated one of the Junior Suites, transforming it into a more open, airy Garden Suite that strengthens a guest’s connection to nature. With a décor reflective of the new Villa Suite, which debuted last year, and in keeping with the overall property, the ambiance of the Garden Suite is minimalist and organic. A highlight is the refurbished bathroom with a large rain-head shower, which simulates natural precipitation to awaken the senses.
Known for its tranquil grace, refined charm and flawless personal service, Montpelier Plantation is a secluded retreat catering to discerning travelers. One of the newest members of Relais & Chateaux, this intimate 18-room hideaway is owned and managed by the Hoffman family, who created a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere where guests feel immediately at ease.
Nestled amongst thirty acres of landscaped gardens, Montpelier features an exquisite hand-laid 60-foot mosaic-tiled pool, natural gardens and tennis court as well as the recently completed Villa Suite, which embodies modern simplicity. Fresh flowers and fruit as well as complimentary afternoon tea are provided daily.
Montpelier by the Sea, the hotel’s private two-acre beach, is a stunning retreat complete with private sun gazebos and a cheerful barman. In the evening, guests can choose between Montpelier’s two gourmet restaurants: The AAA Four Diamond Terrace restaurant and The Mill, set in the plantation’s original 18th century sugar mill.
