Phase One of the $35-Million Refurbishment of the San Juan Marriott Now Underway

The San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino has begun phase one of a $35 million renovation to keep the 32 year-old building in sync with the latest in luxury resorts.

The finished product will result in a grand lobby, updated casino, refreshed ballroom, and guest rooms with a new Latin Caribbean look.

In keeping up-to-date and looking fresh, the hotel will undergo a major renovation during which time major areas of the hotel such as guestrooms and bathrooms, ballrooms and the casino will receive a total makeover.

The casino will experience an expansion and upgrade starting mid-April and should be completed by early June.

Following, the main tower will be closed for a complete renovation. The ballroom will also be getting a face-lift with renovations taking place in September and meeting facilities due for work in October. Additionally, the cabana wing, consisting of 123 rooms, will be introduced as a brand new product featuring new accommodations and suites.

Construction and renovations are scheduled to be complete by December 2006 and the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino will ring in 2007 with a brand new, state-of-the-art product.
