Renovated Hotel to Open in Barcelo Complex in Punta Cana

The Barcelo Bavaro Caribe Beach Deluxe is slated to open in December, completing the second phase of a renovation of the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort complex in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The 180-suite hotel will be geared to families.

The 488-suite Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe opened last December. Amenities include Las Brisas, a buffet-style restaurant; a private balcony or terrace with a hydrotherapy whirlpool in each unit; and in-room and property-wide Wi-Fi access.

Still to come are the remodeling of the 558-room Barcelo Bavaro Palace, the 200-room Barcelo Bavaro Beach, the 368-room Barcelo Bavaro Caribe Beach and the 236-room Barcelo Bavaro Casino.

When the resort-wide renovation project is completed in several stages over the new few years, a total of 1,850 guestrooms and suites will be renovated in the six properties that make up the complex.

The property will feature new sports facilities, including a redesigned 18-hole golf course by 2011; three theaters; numerous a la carte restaurants and concierge services.
