Rex Resorts Heads Upscale

Caribbean hotel specialist Rex Resorts plans to redevelop its three-star property portfolio to four and five-star status.

Rex chief executive Tommy Correia said the company was responding to higher expectations from customers and higher flight costs pushing up the overall price of a holiday.

He said the mid and long-term plan was to redevelop existing sites such as the St Lucian by rex resort, whose refurbishment is due to be completed early next year.

Rex resorts regularly hosts stars and guests at the annual St Lucia Jazz Festival, featuring the likes of R&B star Rihanna.
