Rezidor to Open First Radisson in Madrid in 2009

The Rezidor Hotel Group, the Brussels-based hotel management company, announced the first Radisson SAS Hotel to open in Madrid. Slated to open in late 2009, the Radisson SAS Hotel Madrid Prado will add 54 guestrooms to the Rezidor portfolio. By 2009, Rezidor will open 20,000 new rooms in total.

The Radisson SAS Hotel Madrid Prado will be located in front of the Prado Museum and next to CaixaForum-Madrid, the new cultural center in the city. The 54-room hotel will be a conversion of an existing building. Additional services offered by the hotel will include a restaurant and bar, meeting facilities, a spa and a fitness center.

The Radisson SAS Hotel Madrid Prado is The Rezidor Hotel Group’s second property in Spain. The Radisson SAS El Marques Resort & Spa in Mijas, Malaga, opened its doors in 2006. The Rezidor Hotel Group features a portfolio of 300 hotels in operation and under development with more than 61,000 rooms in 47 countries.
