The 152-room Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands will close from August 15 to November 1 for a $35-million renovation project.

The project is to add 24 luxury suites, six spa treatment rooms and a 20,000-square-foot lounge and also will include a redo of its three restaurants, according to Brad Jenks, general manager.

The renovation is penciled in as the largest this hotel has ever embarked on in its entire history, Mr. Jenks said.
