RIU Palace Las Americas and RIU Palace Mexico in Mexico were awarded the prestigious AAA Four Diamond rating.

AAA analysts evaluated 581 hotels in Mexico, with only 85 earning the 4-Diamand award. Only 6 “All-inclusive” resorts in Mexico were selected, two of the six are RIU Palace resorts: RIU Palace Las Americas and RIU Palace Mexico. AAA presented the awards to RIU today in a ceremony at RIU Palace Las Americas.

RIU Palace Las Americas offers 372 guestrooms overlooking the sparkling blue sea and white sand beaches of Cancun. The beachfront RIU Palace Mexico offers 434 rooms nestled among tall palm trees in Playa del Carmen. Both resorts feature gourmet a-la-carte restaurants and fine buffet dining, water sports, tennis courts, gyms, daily entertainment and nightly shows and much more.

AAA evaluates more than 57,000 hotels and restaurants across the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean each year. To receive a AAA Diamond award, hotels and restaurants must meet a list of strict criteria as determined by AAA tourism editors and trained professionals.

AAA evaluates hotels based on exterior grounds, public areas, room décor and ambiance, guest room amenities, bathrooms, housekeeping, management, and guest services. Hotels must excel in all areas to be considered for the Four Diamond Award. AAA Diamond Ratings represent a combination of the overall quality, the range of facilities, and the level of services offered by a property.
