Riu Tenerife Reopens After Megabuck Renovation

A multimillion-dollar renovation of the Riu Tenerife has resulted in the hotel’s transformation into a five-star property. The top-to-bottom refurbishment gives the hotel a brand-new elegant and sophisticated style with spectacular ocean vistas from an infinity pool, a chill-out zone and an elegant beach zone that has been created in the garden.

The beachfront Riu Palace Tenerife is located on the Adeje Coast and has 334 rooms, all of which have been completely remodeled with new furnishings and decor. Light colors and simple lines were used predominantly, which, together with the unique light of the Island of Tenerife, make for a signature modern and elegant style that typifies all of RIU's new projects these says. The rooms feature 43-inch, flat-screen televisions, electronic safes and brand-new bathrooms that include walk-in showers.

Key areas of the hotel have also been redone. These include the lobby and reception area, as well as the main restaurant and the cocktail lounge, which now has a spectacular terrace with view of the sea. The Riu Palace Tenerife also has two thematic spaces dedicated to food lovers: Krystal, a modern option that combines the concepts of vanguard, fusion cuisine; and the Spanish restaurant focused on Spanish cuisine.

Other property upgrades include the entire aquatic zone, which has been redesigned to create three swimming pools. There is a new infinity pool, a children's pool and an indoor pool, all of which are heated in the winter. Travelers devoted to fitness and health and wellness will find a newly renovated gym, the Body Love wellness center and a beauty salon.

Another hotel upgrade sure to be a hit with all travelers is the property’s free Wi-Fi access.

Shortly following the upgrades to the RIU Palace Tenerife are renovations to the Riu Arecas Hotel, also on the Adeje Coast. The hotel will open its doors toward the end of October.
