Canadian travel giant Sunwing is adding a resort on the island of Antigua. The company’s Royalton brand is developing the Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa, which is slated to open in 2017.

The $400 million project is set to launch construction this summer in the Deep Bay area of Antigua. The 500-room property will also include a 200-condominium-unit complex.

The contract on the project was recently signed by Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne, Tourism Minister Asot Michael and President and CEO of Sunwing Travel Group Stephen Hunter.
