Sol Meliá to Add Ten New Hotels in the U.S. by 2010
Spain-based hotel chain Sol Meliá is keeping the U.S. market well locked on in its crosshairs. Senior officials from the company revealed this week plans to count on up to ten more establishments in America by the year 2010.
"This is part of our strategic plan, to open ten more lodgings in the U.S. over the next five years," said Andre P. Gorondeau, general manager of Sol Meliá North America. "The Meliá Royal Palm in Miami will soon join the Hard Rock Chicago Hotel, the Paradisus Puerto Rico and the Paramount Hotel in New York City."
Sol Meliá Hill take over management of the Royal Palm Crown Plaza Resort in Miami after reaching an agreement with The Mitchell Companies, the establishment´s current owner.
The Royal Palm will be Sol Meliá´s fourth property in America and the first ever to enter the U.S. market under the Sol Meliá trademark.
The Royal Palm Crown Plaza Resort has 471 rooms scattered in a couple of towers that will soon undergo an all-out, megabuck refurbishment. All major remodeling is scheduled to conclude in late 2005.
