Sol Meliá has opened its first Me by Meliá property, a new brand of “experience-based personality hotels,” in Madrid’s Plaza de Santa Ana. Formerly the Hotel Reina Victoria, the 192-room hotel has been refashioned as the Me Madrid Reina Victoria.

Sol Meliá described the Me Madrid as a “daring, bold hotel concept ... characterized by passion for service, design, international fusion cuisine and world music.”

Each of the rooms feature 300-thread count linen and down pillow top mattresses; and a state-of-the-art home theater entertainment center featuring a 32-inch interactive plasma TV and CD/DVD player, along with an in-room library of CDs and DVDs, Wi-Fi Internet access, and docking stations and adapters for digital media devices such as iPods and digital cameras.

In case you don’t own an iPod, the hotel will provide guests with one for use during their stay, preloaded with more than 900 songs. Bathroom amenities include organic, all-natural products by AVEDA and rainfall showerheads.

All of the suites at Me Madrid, Reina Victoria feature private terraces, while the Tower Suite offers 360-degree views of the city.

The hotel also encompasses 4,400 square feet of meetings, reception and conference space that can be separated into seven individual spaces, as well as a business center. Sol Meliá has plans to open other Me by Meliá properties in Europe and Mexico.
