Coinciding with the FITUR international tourism fair held in Madrid, the world’s largest vacation company Sol Meliá announces the opening of two luxurious hotel locations in 2008: the Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora Resort in Tenerife (Spain) and Gran Meliá Shanghai Hotel (China).

Gran Meliá is the ambassador of a distinctly Spanish brand of world-class hotels and resort characterized by superior service developed over 50 years’ experience internationally. With nearly 4.000 rooms in 12 properties world-wide, the Gran Meliá Hotels and Resorts brand is the premier collection of Sol Meliá Worldwide.

Planned to open mid-year 2008, Sol Meliá will launch a flagship resort in Tenerife (Spain) and a flagship hotel in central Shanghai (China). Considered a culmination of the company’s knowledge and values, the two new properties stand as twin flagships for a whole new level of hospitality that is the future of Sol Meliá’s most coveted luxury brand. By 2009, the company will introduce two other Gran Meliá sites in Italy and Spain.
