Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts launched a cash incentive program for agents booking travel through December 21 for stays completed by December 31.

The offer applies to new bookings only for stays from three to seven nights at eight participating properties in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Mexico. The cash incentive of up to $125 per booking is in addition to the standard 10 percent commission.

Sol Mel Hotels & Resorts debuts a “beach club” concept called Gabi at its three properties in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The term “Gabi” refers to a restaurant/lounge area, located either beachside or poolside at each resort where use is restricted to the higher-paying categories of guests.

Although the concept varies from resort to resort, Gabi combines dining, specialty cocktails and international music that resort officials described as “reminiscent of a European-inspired beach lounge.” Amenities include banquettes, throw pillows, mood lighting and musical entertainment.

The Gabi Beach at Paradisus Palma Real is a restaurant and lounge area on the beach, available at lunch and dinner to guests in the Royal Service and Family Concierge premium accommodations categories. The Gabi Lounge at Paradisus Punta Cana offers drinks only in a beachside setting.
