Spain’s Gran Bahia Principe Set to Open New Hotels in the Dominican Republic
El Catey International Airport, a 20-minute drive from the town of Samana on the Dominican Republic´s Atlantic coast, is scheduled to be fully operational in early November.
In anticipation of the new airport, which will be capable of handling jet aircraft, several five-star properties also will open their doors this fall.
Leading the pack is the Gran Bahia Principe, a hotel group from Spain with four all-inclusive resorts set to open in a six-week period from November 1 to December 15.
These include the 295-room Gran Bahia Principe Cayacoa, the 396-room Gran Bahia Principe El Portillo, the 110-room Gran Bahia Principe Samana, and the 195-room, villa-style Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado, all of them opening in November.
