Three Hotels in St. Vincent Make Leading Hotels of the World 2008 Guide
The Leading Hotels of the World annual 2008 guide includes three hotel properties in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Raffles Resort in Canouan Island, Cotton House in Mustique and Petit St. Vincent Resort on Petit St. Vincent are the three properties to attain the prestigious title, with the last two making the list of The Leading Small Hotels of the World.
Of the 19 Caribbean countries to make the select list, St Vincent and the Grenadines was only matched in performance by Anguilla, which also had 3 hotels making the directory. Antigua, Jamaica, St Lucia and the Bahamas also were included.
The Raffles Resort in Canouan also featured as one of the 4 out of 19 Caribbean resorts to bear The Leading Spa Resort logo. The other three were: The Royal Plantation in Jamaica, The Carlisle Bay in Antigua and The Parrot Cay & Como Shambhala Retreat in Turks & Caicos Islands.
The government of St Vincent and the Grenadines says it is proud and committed to promote and provide a world class level and experience in the tourism sector. The current logo of the Ministry of Tourism being “The Caribbean You Are Looking For” represents the efforts put in by all stakeholders to achieve this accolade.
The Leading Hotels of the World is headquartered in New York City and has 24 regional offices world-wide. It is a marketing and trade association that represents luxury hotels, resorts and day spas around the world, including some of the world’s most famous hotels.
It does not solicit new members and operates a very stringent acceptance protocol with the property having to meet all of The Leading Hotels of the World’s Global Luxury Standards. These include accommodation, service, cuisine and additional features provided.
