Villa View Fort Opens in 200-Year-Old Building in Anguilla
Villa View Fort is the latest property to join the rapidly growing villa inventory on Anguilla. The four-bedroom villa, which has been owned by the Gombs family of Anguilla since 1918, was built around an early 19th century cottage, originally commissioned by a local island doctor.
The original 200-year-old building is still intact and forms the center of the new two-wing villa construction. The additional wings were designed to complement the original structure of the cottage with wood-clad exterior walls, shuttered windows, a shingled roof and gingerbread details.
Modern facilities include travertine bathrooms, vessel sinks, granite countertops, marble tile and a fully-equipped gym, library and home office. The kitchen features Viking and Sub Zero appliances, a stainless steel apron sink, a hardwood floor and seating for eight.
Nightly rates from April 15 through November 14 are $330 per person, based on a seven-night minimum and an eight-person capacity. The rates include the services of a chef, although food and beverage costs, service and taxes are extra. Commission to agents is 10 percent.
