Newlyweds who want to participate in a volunteer program can take a Volunteer Honeymoon at The Westin St. John Resort & Villas.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, approximately 60 million people performed some kind of volunteer work last year.

Located just 10 minutes from Virgin Islands National Park, the Westin is offering a $100 resort credit and free transfers for couples who book the resort’s Honeymoon package and participate in The American Hiking Association’s (AHA) volunteer vacations program. The AHA has teamed up with Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park to coordinate vacations that combine outdoor activity with environmental preservation.

Volunteer trips are six days long, led by a Hiking Society crew leader and consist of environmental initiatives throughout the park varying from moderate to difficult work levels. Hikers must provide all personal gear and equipment. Trip costs start at $275 per person.
