The Celebrity Galaxy will be refitted in March and will leave drydock as TUI Cruises’ first ship. TUI Cruises, a joint venture of German travel giant TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., will spend about $62 million converting the Galaxy. Lloyd Shipyards in Bremerhaven, Germany, has been awarded the contract to refit the ship.

The ceremony held at World Travel Market in London recognizes tourism companies for operating a successful business while respecting destinations and communities. Holland America Line won the first place award for Best Cruise or Ferry Operator.

Silversea Cruises announced that the Silver Cloud will sail Canada/New England cruises next fall. The ship’s revised schedule replaces a London-to-Barbados repositioning voyage and three Caribbean cruises with four new itineraries spanning from London, Reykjavik and Montreal to New York and Bermuda.

This announcement was made during the 15th annual Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Cruise Conference and Trade Show, held in Trinidad. Several local tourism officials attended the conference.
