Choice Hotels International's Ascend Hotel Collection of independent properties has added its first Guyana property with the 25-room Opus Hotel. The hotel is located in Georgetown's Stabroek district.

The new Melia Braco Village is eyeing a January opening. The Spanish hotel company’s first hotel in Jamaica is now taking bookings for stays beginning Jan. 23, according to the company’s website.
