As expected, Sandals Whitehouse European Village & Spa in Jamaica reopened December 18, right on time, after four months of refurbishments.
Hilton Worldwide signed a multi-year management agreement with Inmobiliaria Shine Limitada for the first Hilton Worldwide hotel in Chile and the first Hilton Garden Inn property in South America -- Hilton Garden Inn Airport Santiago. Construction of the new Hilton Garden Inn Airport Santiago is expected to begin in February 2010 and completion is scheduled for July 2011.
Marriott International, Inc. reported that the company expects to add approximately 38,000 rooms to its worldwide lodging system in 2009, raising its guidance of 33,000 gross room additions for 2009 provided in its third-quarter earnings press release on Oct. 8, 2009.
