Barceló Hotels & Resorts has teamed up with Itravel2000 to offer great deals to Mexico and the Caribbean for the 2006/2007 season. Together the two companies will offer all-inclusive vacation packages to Mexico, Cuba, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.
Regent Hotels & Resorts announced that it will take over management of The Palms on Grace Bay in the Turks and Caicos, marking the company’s first Caribbean property. The resort will be renamed The Regent Palms, Turks and Caicos in early 2007. The Palms has 72 two-bedroom and three-bedroom suites, a 25,000-square-foot spa and a $1.8 million infinity pool.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, unveiled its new extended-stay hotel brand ELEMENT, a brand extension of Westin Hotels & Resorts. ELEMENT, formerly known by its working title Project ESW, will redefine extended-stay hospitality, incorporating smart design, modern style and a social environment into a category often associated with look-alike brands and generic features.
RIU Hotels & Resorts plans to introduce two new properties in 2007 bringing its total number of hotels in Mexico, the Caribbean and the United States to 30. RIU will reach a baker´s dozen resorts in Mexico overall and its second in Los Cabos, the RIU Santa Fe, at the end of 2007.
The Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino is redefining comfort and luxury. The beachfront resort has announced its plan to renovate 115 current rooms and suites to better accommodate guests. The more than $2.5 million project is set to create Premiere Rooms, complying with a theme of “refined Caribbean elegance” for a true feeling of an island in paradise. Rooms are scheduled for completion on December 1, 2006.
