Anguilla reported a 6.8 percent increases in tourism arrivals in 2013, according to data from the Anguilla Tourist Board. The island welcomed a total of 69,068 tourist stopover arrivals, up from 64,698 in 2012, according to data from the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

The launch was five years in the making, undergoing four phases of research and development which included analyzing the travel market and Costa Rica’s place in it, and using focus groups to determine the favored brand.

Haiti is reporting a significant increase in tourist arrivals, according to data from the Caribbean Tourism Organization. The country welcomed 299,646 stopover arrivals in the first nine months of 2013, a 17.9 percent year-over-year increase compared to the same period in 2012.

The Commonwealth of the Bahamas received an Open Letter of endorsement and support from the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) as a leader in tourism, particularly in the region. The letter was presented to Prime Minister Perry Christie by UNTWO Secretary General Taleb Rifai in a ceremony at Government House, during the Small Island Developing States conference held February 19 to 20, 2014.

The governments of Dominica and Brazil have signed a new visa waiver agreement. The new agreement means residents of Dominica and Brazil can travel between the two countries without the need of visas.
