Magdalena Grand Beach Resort (www.magdalenagrand.com) is working with Save Our Sea Turtles (SOS) Tobago (www.sos-tobago.org) to maintain the population of the ancient Leatherback sea turtles, along with the Hawksbill and Green sea turtles that nest on the beaches of Tobago.
According to the World Tourism Organization, Peru's growth in visitor arrivals makes the nation a world leader. In 2013, Peru international visitor arrival number was 2,800,000, an 8.5 percent increase.
Despite the widespread economic downturn, the Caribbean tourism industry has survived, albeit not entirely unscathed. The Chilean destination of Lake Llanquihue has completed the Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s (GSTC) Early Adopters pilot program to test its new Criteria and Indicators for Destinations.
