Sernatur, Chile’s National Tourism Office, has officially launched the second part of its “Chile es Tuyo” (Chile is Yours) campaign to encourage domestic tourism. The project, which is overseen by Secretary of Tourism Jacqueline Plass, and Sernatur’s National Director Alvaro Castilla, is especially hoped to encourage tourism during the country’s off-season, which runs from March until November.
The Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA) has just contracted a study of the Barbados brand, which will weigh the thoughts of visitors and stakeholders, as well as "everyday" Barbadians. This is according to Chairman of the BTA Adrian Elcock. He was speaking during the Quarterly Tourism Media Briefing held at Dover Beach Hotel yesterday.

The Jamaica Hotel and Tourism Association (JHTA), has signaled that it will be engaging its international partners to resist any attempt by the Government to increase the tourism enhancement fee. Daryl Vaz, the minister with responsibility for information told reporters yesterday that Cabinet has given approval for the fee to be increased.
