From April 27-30, a team from the U.S. Virgin Islands led by Lieutenant Governor Gregory R. Francis conducted an in-depth tour of St. Kitts’ historical and eco-sensitive attractions to gather insights in anticipation of developing the Bethlehem project and other low-impact, soft attractions on St. Croix.
At the Swiss Travel Mart (STM) in Geneva, Switzerland Tourism unveiled the latest tourism numbers from the U.S. for 2010. Alex Herrmann, director-Americas for Switzerland Tourism, said U.S. travelers spent 1.5 million room nights in Switzerland in 2010, up 8.9 percent compared to 2009.
Knowing that a .travel name would automatically link El Salvador as a tourism destination, the country tourism office purchased its name in 2006, and has recently launched a new website, branding, and marketing efforts with ElSalvador.travel. Since the launch and other targeted efforts, the growth of tourism to El Salvador has been tremendous since 2008.
Fernando Pimentel, Minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil, told the World Economic Forum on Latin America that a new form of consensus in Brazil is taking shape towards the construction of a “great” national project. “The country has found its way and it will carry on,” he said.
Since Mexico is the guest country of the Havana Tourism Fair, tourism company Habaguanex S.A. suggests some places in the city of Havana where this Latin American nation has left its mark. This cultural grand tour has been designed thanks to the research conducted by expert Rafael Fernandez Moya.
As U.S. travel restrictions continue to loosen, new poll shows 75 percent of Americans have a desire to travel to Cuba or may consider a trip if the U.S. government lifts all restrictions, according to a new Travel Leaders survey.
