A new travel study shows that potential holidaymakers are increasingly using the internet to plan their holidays. The survey found that nine out of ten people use their home computers to look up travel information online.
Despite global economic weakness Cuban tourism increased during the first 9 months of 2010, with both revenue and visitor numbers up, according to island’s tourism officials.
Bermuda’s Port Royal Golf Course is teaming with the country’s department of tourism to launch a series of “Port Royal Visitor Tournaments” featuring competitions every Monday and Thursday through March 31, 2011. Tournament participants receive 50 percent off green fees (inclusive of cart for 18 holes). Participation costs $90 per person; club rentals are available for $25. Prizes will go to the top three golfers in each tournament and the winner will receive a commemorative victory certificate and prize from the pro shop valued up to $50.
The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), the premier source of Caribbean tourism statistics, research and news, and the Africa Travel Association (ATA), the leading travel industry trade association promoting tourism to Africa, signed a partnership agreement that will support both organizations’ endeavors to promote tourism to their respective regions. In the Memorandum of Understanding, the two regions have also pledged to help each other increase business opportunities and develop sustainable tourism.
