The many charms of the Caribbean paradise of Aruba are given exposure through an innovative new move in which, instead of landscape views of a sun-kissed vacation, the island is profiled in the diversity of its people, who reach out to visitors through individual personal profiles.
Dubrovnik will see several luxury hotels open this year. The Valamar Lacroma Resort, a four-star property, member of the “Special Hotels of the World” will open in Dubrovnik in May. It will be the largest congress and spa hotel in Dubrovnik (eight conference rooms in total, one with capacity to host more than 1,000 people).
The city of Amsterdam officially launched “Welcome Teams” on April 2, to give an extra welcome to the visitors to Amsterdam. The teams will guide visitors and provide information on public transport during the tourist season.

Tourism is a massive creator of jobs, as well as being a leading services export for developing economies.
PATA is to stage an Adventure Travel and Responsible Tourism Conference and Mart in Nepal in 2010. The event, supported by the association’s Nepal Chapter, is slated for Feb. 1 to 5, 2010, in Katmandu with the Nepal Tourism Board acting as host.
