Egyptian President, WTTC Launch "Leadership Journey" in Egypt
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi hosted a high-level delegation from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) at Al-Ittihadiya Palace to finalize plans for a major international event.
The "Global Tourism Leaders’ Leadership Journey" will bring 270 top executives from the world's leading travel companies to Egypt for a high-profile cruise passing through the Suez Canal.
This summit is designed to showcase Egypt’s diverse tourism assets and demonstrate the country’s stability and readiness for massive international investment in 2026.
The meeting is a mechanical necessity for Egypt as it seeks to solidify its position as a preferred global destination amidst shifting regional dynamics. WTTC Chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio emphasized that choosing Egypt for this "leadership journey" sends a strong message of confidence to the global private sector.
The partnership aims to foster sustainable tourism growth and enhance the resilience of Egypt’s infrastructure, particularly as the country prepares for a surge in luxury and cultural arrivals following the recent opening of several "mega-museums."
For the 2026 global explorer, Egypt’s renewed focus on safety and sustainability translates into a more organized and premium visitor experience. The government’s collaboration with the WTTC is expected to yield new digital entry systems and upgraded hospitality standards across the Nile corridor.
As the country leverages its historical heritage to attract a new generation of travelers, the Leadership Journey marks the beginning of an era where Egypt is viewed not just as a site for ruins, but as a hub for innovation in the tourism sector.
