Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Expands Across Latin America, the Caribbean

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company, boasting 24 brands and around 9,200 hotels, continues its expansion across Latin America and the Caribbean. Recently, it disclosed full-year results for the region in 2023, marking significant achievements. These include the introduction of five brands into new countries, signing 46 franchise agreements adding over 8,300 rooms to their pipeline, and opening nearly 20 hotels.

The company's growth is attributed to its OwnerFirst™ approach to franchising, emphasizing its strong reputation and commitment to owner and franchisee success. With last year's additions, Wyndham concluded 2023 with 254 hotels throughout the region, offering close to 40,000 rooms across 18 brands, with a pipeline exceeding 100 hotels.

Gustavo Viescas, President, Latin America and the Caribbean, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, highlighted the trust owners and franchisees have placed in Wyndham, emphasizing the company's advantages such as the award-winning loyalty program, Wyndham Rewards, and its unmatched technology, marketing, and distribution capabilities.

In 2023, Wyndham achieved several milestones, including opening notable hotels and resorts in new destinations like Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord's Castle All Inclusive Resort and the Brickell Bay Beach Resort Aruba, Trademark Collection by Wyndham. The company also expanded its all-inclusive offerings, with resorts across various countries now constituting almost 30 percent of its regional room portfolio.

Looking ahead, Wyndham anticipates accelerated growth, introducing new brands to new markets with approximately 75 hotels expected to be added in the region over the next five years, primarily in the Dominican Republic, Brazil, and Mexico. Midscale brands are expected to dominate future openings, accounting for over 50 percent of all upcoming hotels, with upscale and upper-upscale brands comprising the rest.
