Habanos, S.A. Unveils Partagás Royales at TFWA Cannes

Habanos, S.A. has officially introduced the Partagás Royales, a new and exclusive vitola launched during the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes. The release underscores the company’s strategic focus on the Duty Free and Travel Retail channels, offering travelers a refined product that blends tradition with contemporary elegance.
The Partagás Royales (48 ring gauge x 150mm length) revives the name of an iconic format from the 1960s, reinterpreted with a modern design. Presented in a commemorative 20-unit travel humidor, the cigar is “Totally Handmade with Long Filler” using select tobaccos from Cuba’s famed Vuelta Abajo region in Pinar del Río, renowned for producing some of the world’s finest leaves.
The official launch took place on September 30 at a gala dinner hosted by Habanos, S.A. at L’Ondine – Vilebrequin La Plage, gathering international distributors, duty-free operators, industry media and cigar enthusiasts. The event also served as a celebration of the 180th anniversary of the prestigious Partagás brand, one of the cornerstones of Habanos’ legacy.

Meanwhile, Beatriz Garrido García, the company’s Director of Operational Marketing, highlighted that “with Partagás Royales, we offer an experience designed for the discerning traveler.”
Beyond its elegant design and collectible humidor, the Royales promises an exceptional smoking experience. Tasting notes describe a smooth, silky wrapper, excellent draw and compact ash. From the first draw, the cigar reveals clean flavors that evolve into refined notes of cocoa and oak, delivering a full-bodied smoke with a dense texture and a lingering aftertaste. Smoking time is estimated at 45 to 60 minutes.
The Royales is also positioned as an ideal pairing companion to aged, robust spirits, especially those matured in white oak barrels, developing complementary notes of dried fruit, chocolate, or vanilla. Together, the pairing creates what Habanos calls “an authentic symphony of flavors.”
