Jamaica Tourist Board’s Expedia Partnership Produces Higher Revenues
The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) reported revenue growth resulting from its partnership with online travel company Expedia. JTB revenues through the Expedia Affiliate Network (EAN) grew by 8 percent in the second quarter of 2011 while average daily rates climbed 12 percent.
“We are pleased that our partnership with Expedia has resulted in significant benefits for Jamaica and look forward to strengthening the bonds of cooperation,” said John Lynch, Jamaica director of tourism.
“Over 1.2 million travelers used Expedia, Inc. sites around the world to book their trips to the Caribbean in the past year,” said Demetrius Canton, Expedia director of lodging for the Caribbean. “We are dedicated to working with our partners in Jamaica to grow that number in the years to come.”
