St. Maarten Delegation Courts Trinitarian Visitors
Last week, a contingent from St Maarten was in Trinidad and Tobago on a promotional trip to highlight the destination and its one of a kind leisure, nature and business tourism offerings to the members of the press and public.
Different events were hosted by the Dutch St Maarten Tourism Bureau (STB) at which executives along with key representatives from various St Maarten based hotel, resort and hospitality properties interacted with local travel agents, media personnel and potential visitors, and informed them of the destination’s unique cultural and tourism facets.
The STB’s Promotional Assistant for the Caribbean, Betty Jean-Baptiste shared her pleasure at once again spearheading a St Maarten promotion in this country. Marketing Assistant, Marla Chemont went into a little more details of the beauty and history of St Maarten.
She stated St Maarten is the smallest island in the world to be shared by two nations, Kingdom of the Netherlands and France, creating a European-influenced vibe with a Caribbean flair.
Some 109 nationalities make up the Caribbean island, and as “the culinary capital of the Caribbean”, St Maarten offers an eclectic array of cuisine fusion for food lovers with more than 365 restaurants (one for each day of the year).
Visitors can also indulge in 37 breathtaking beaches, one mile apart, various water sports such as scuba diving and snorkeling, 100 percent duty-free shopping, 14 casinos and numerous nightclubs as well as historical and family-oriented attractions.
A number of media personnel were awarded complimentary stays at various St Maarten’s hotels and guest houses at the media event.
