
Cuba hopes to become a world tourism power, the island nation’s tourism minister Manuel Marrero said today during the presentation of the country’s heritage cities. Before attendants to FITCUBA 2009, Mr. Marrero unveiled the first seven villages founded on the island and praised their highly historic and cultural values.
With the landing of Air France’s new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, the company is underscoring its support for Cuban tourism, as the airline’s local delegate Guilhem Mallet said.

After four days of toilsome work, intense negotiations and contracts to clinch the success of the upcoming high-peak travel season, the region’s number-one tourism fair (FITCuba 2008) came to a close in Havana.
The closing session ended with the issuing of postal stamps dedicated to the event, genuine artworks that feature the first seven villages founded in Cuba that still preserve their guarantees of origin: Baracoa, Bayamo, Trinidad, Sancti Spiritus, Santiago de Cuba, Camaguey and Havana.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Morro-Cabaña Park will mark today the beginning of the 28th International Tourism Fair in Cuba (FITCuba 2008) that this time around will put culture-tourism integration in the limelight and will feature Italy as the guest country.
With longstanding experience in the sector, FITCuba 2008 will promote the products that destination Cuba has to offer. This will no doubt be the perfect setting to build on commercial ties dating back from the previous edition and as a result of visits paid to the outbound markets.
Cuba, standing in the heart of all major navigation routes of the Americas, has traditionally been a coveted spot for sailors from all around the world. Its harbors and ports are put on everybody’s maps and charts as safe maritime havens.
