The first-ever TRYP By Wyndham hotel has opened in Mexico. The new property, which is located just a few steps from the World Trade Center in Mexico City, is the brand’s 20th hotel in the wider region. Wyndham has 120 TRYP properties around the world.

A Curacao-based company has announced plans to open a 177-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel in 2017. CMC Real Estate N.V. will develop the hotel, the company said in a statement, as part of a mixed-use development featuring condominiums, retail space, an entertainment area, three restaurants and a casino.

JetBlue Airways is eyeing a former terminal at Kennedy Airport in New York, with plans to turn it into a hotel. According to The Wall Street Journal, JetBlue is in negotiations with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for the rights to turn the Trans World Airlines terminal at Kennedy Airport into a hotel.

Tour operator Sunwing has officially opened its Grand Memories Varadero resort. The property is the first in the Memories chain to carry the “Grand” moniker. It includes 1,110 rooms and suites and is offered exclusively by Sunwing, the company said.

There are around 1,600 new hotel rooms set to come on stream in Jamaica over the next 18 months, according to Tourism Minister Dr. Wykeham McNeill. The rooms could help address a need McNeill said had arisen due to an “increase in airlift out of key markets.”
