Cruise Lines Adjust Itineraries to Avoid Hurricane Ernesto

In response to Tropical Storm Ernesto's impact on the northern Caribbean, several cruise lines have revised their itineraries to steer clear of the storm. Ernesto has disrupted power supplies in Puerto Rico and is expected to intensify into a hurricane as it approaches Bermuda.
Carnival Cruise Line has made the following changes:
- Carnival Pride is now arriving in Bermuda one day earlier than planned and will depart Thursday.
- Carnival Magic has replaced its Puerto Rico stop with Nassau, Bahamas, on Friday.
- Carnival Freedom and Mardi Gras itineraries are under review for potential adjustments.
Celebrity Cruises announced:
- Icon of the Seas will now sail a Western Caribbean route visiting Cozumel, Roatan, and Costa Maya instead of its original Eastern Caribbean stops.
- Rhapsody of the Seas has altered its port order, now visiting Bridgetown, Castries, St. John’s, Phillipsburg, and St. Croix.
- Symphony of the Seas will visit Nassau, Bahamas, in place of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
Norwegian Cruise Line reported:
- Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Sky have swapped their Eastern Caribbean routes for Western Caribbean destinations including Roatan, Costa Maya, and Cozumel.
- Norwegian Joy will now arrive in Bermuda a day earlier, with a revised departure schedule.
Holland America, Princess, and Virgin Voyages have not reported significant changes, with Virgin Voyages' Valiant Lady unaffected. Royal Caribbean and Disney are still reviewing their plans.
Ernesto is anticipated to approach Bermuda as a Category 2 hurricane by early Saturday, though it is not expected to hit the U.S. mainland. Travelers are advised to stay updated on further changes.
