Choice Hotels International is opening of the four-star Clarion hotel located on the Caribbean island of Curacao.
The opening of the Clarion International Curacao hotel represents Choice´s seventh hotel franchise in the Caribbean region.
After almost 50 years of business, the Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort & Country Club will cease operations and close on May 31.
The 262-room property, set on 1,000 beachfront acres in Dorado, about 20 miles west of San Juan, opened in 1958; Hyatt Hotels Corp. has managed the property since 1985.
Hilton Hotels Corporation, Apollo Real Estate Advisors and Rida Development Corporation announced that they have formed a joint venture to build the Hilton Orlando Convention Center.
The hotel will fill a void in high-end hotel rooms near the Orange County Convention Center, in central Florida.

Barbados´ Mango Bay Hotel has officially re-opened following a six-month $10 million refurbishment and expansion project resulting in 12 additional suites as well as extensive enhancements throughout the 12-year old resort.
Among the new accommodations are two 1,200-square-foot Penthouse Suites priced at $1,500 to $1,800 per night all-inclusive in season and designed to meet the needs of clientele with five-star tastes.
Palma de Majorca-based Barceló Hotels & Resorts today announced a new gem in its collection of fine Mexican hotels and resorts. The Company acquired the world class Karmina Palace Hotel along the Pacific Coast in Manzanillo, Mexico.
The hotel will now be known as the Barceló Karmina Palace Hotel, and the 324 all-suite, all-inclusive resort will have a five star property rating as part of the company´s Barceló Premium Collection. Barceló Hotels & Resorts reports paying $48.2 million for the property.
