Accor has agreed terms with Development Securities for a four star ´New Generation´ Novotel Paddington Central. The hotel will complement nearly 1 million sq ft of offices together with retail, restaurant and residential accommodation. Existing occupiers on the scheme include Visa, Kingfisher and Chiltern Mondial.
“We couldn´t have picked a better location for our ninth Novotel in London. The immediate area is going to see major development, we´re close to Paddington and we´re very convenient for the West End,” said Jean-Jacques Dessors, Accor Hotels Managing Director Novotel, Mercure, Ibis, Etap and Formule 1 in the UK. “We look forward to working with Development Securities to make this hotel a great success.”
Starwood Hotels & Resorts in the Middle East has launched a new marketing initiative in the UK to promote its expanding portfolio of hotels in the Gulf region. The Big PR Agency has been appointed to execute a focused PR program to increase the UK profile of Starwood´s properties within the Middle East.
The campaign will focus on promoting the global hotel operator´s 48 hotels across the UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Yemen. The region operates four of Starwood´s eight hotel brands including Sheraton, Westin, Four Points by Sheraton and Le Meridien.
Omni Hotels aims to broaden its international coverage with plans to join the Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), a network of luxury brands with hotels and resorts in more than 150 destinations in 55 countries.
“We´ve sought opportunities over the years to expand our brand´s message in the global marketplace. Joining forces with the strong brands of the GHA provides traction in these previously under addressed, valuable markets and complements our steady growth across North America,” said Mike Deitemeyer, president of Omni Hotels.
Last month, 2006 Divi Resorts broke ground on a new development at Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort in Aruba that will more than double the size of the resort, adding 140 suites to the existing 101 units.
The new studios, one-bedroom suites, and two- and three-bedroom penthouses will be housed in four eight-story buildings and will feature fully equipped kitchens with convection oven, gas stovetop, microwave, and full-size refrigerators.
A new Spa featuring separate suites for guests will be opened this spring at the five-star flagship, Sun Village-Cofresi, in the Dominican Republic, according to Elliott, parent company of Sun Village Resorts.
The Spa at Sun Village Resort will feature indoor-outdoor treatment rooms, lush tropical gardens, and a serene Spa-only pool and sundeck. Additionally, 25 Oasis Spa rooms, including two suites, offer private Jacuzzis and views into the Spa gardens, pool or ocean.
